If you are a citizen with a passion to make a difference in your community, you have come to the right place.

Whether you are a volunteer, an administrator, a staff person, a researcher, or an activist….whether you are from Manitoba, from another location in Canada, or a distant country working hard to build a healthy, civil society….we have much to share with you.

What follows is the story of MVSI: The Manitoba Voluntary Sector Initiative…our unique, community based process to develop and sustain our voluntary sector – to support and strengthen people working for people rather than for personal financial gain.

We hope you’ll also see the MVSI as a call to action. We want to make sure the world knows that the voluntary sector in every society is as vital to the future of humanity as the services of government, business, and organized labour.

We will show you how to work for a healthy, independent future of the sector. The voluntary sector contributes to your world: the democratic process; civil society, innovation; respect for diversity and is a powerful advocate for improved community life.
